Fuel consumption for Toyota avensis 1.8 2003 hatch?

well that isn't that much gas to use to fill up the toyata because i have one etc

I think the combined MPG is around the 43 mark, I looked at the new model a few weeks back and its about the same as the 2003-4 models. The 2.2D returns about 54 on the new model.

But that's not very good compared to the car I've got which is a Vectra 2.5 V6 which can,If driven sensibly, return the same figures as the 1.8 Avensis. Shame as I did like it when I tested it.
