There are 2 adjustments that must be made to lower the pedal. One is the adjustment on the master cylinder push rod the other is the switch that tells the cruise to disengage, it acts as an upper stop. First loosen the jam nut on the push rod and screw the push rod into the clevis. This will lower the pedal. When it is close to where you want it just leave it alone for now. Next you will have to adjust the switch by loosening the jam nut and turning the switch. You will have to unplug the wire from the switch to turn it as much as you will need. Adjust the switch until the pedal is where you want it when you pull it against the switch. Be certain that you do not adjust things too low so as to not get full clutch disengagement of the clutch or you might damage your clutch or transaxle. Tighten the jam nut and reconnect the wire. Next you have to fine tune the push rod adjustment. Lengthen the rod until there is just a little bit of free play in the mechanism. The free play is crucial, it doesn't need much but it has to be there. I usually adjust them so the free play is just gone and then loosen it about a half turn. Tighten the jam nut and test drive to be sure everything is working OK.
