How does cruise control work on a 1996 toyota avalon? or any toyota for that matter?

Default How does cruise control work on a 1996 toyota avalon? or any toyota for that matter?
I'm going on a road trip and im gonna be on the highway for several hours and want to know.

You must turn the cruise control system on, with the button on the end of the stalk, each time you start the car and want to use the cruise. To set the cruise just achieve the desired speed, over 25mph, and move the lever to the set position.

turn on cruise control. you press the button on the tip of the stick. after doing this, a light in the dash that says "cruise" should appear. this indicates that the cruise control is on.































you push the stick down then release to set the cruise control and then release the gas pedal. this should set the cruise control.































so that's it. you know you can also accelerate with cruise control? all you need to do is push the lever up.































if you want to just coast, just push the stick down. then release when you reach your desired speed/
