Hey buddy, The 1st thing you do... check that the cables & connections to the battery are sound. A lot of battery problems can be solved by simply making sure that the connections between the battery terminals & battery are clean & secure. If you can, remove the terminals (negative 1st, positive 2nd) & scrape the inside with a sharp knife...do the same to the battery posts...make sure they are nice & shiny..then replace them (Negative 1st, postive 2nd) ...If your battery has gone dead take it to a garage & get them to charge it for a couple hours (or get someone to give you a "jump"). Once you get your car started you can easily check to see if the alternator is charging the battery, by using a voltmeter. When the car is not running, voltage should be 12v. While the car is running it should read approx. 14.5v (thereabouts). If the voltmeter only reads 12v with the car running, that means your alternator is not functioning. It has either gone bad or you have a poor connection. Hope this helps you get your rig back in action!
