Is this true?? ABout my corolla le 2003?

I Just bought a 03 corolla LE.. The other day while going down a hill i heard what sounded like my brakes grinding.. ive had it happen in previous cars so i knew the sound.. .. so im still under warranty and i called Toyota dealership where i bought it and i told them and he said what car do u have and i told him and he said that all corollas do it that the brakes shift while slowing if they didn't do that then id bust a caliper(sp).. is this true?? My boyfriend took my tire off and he just knows basics about brakes.. and he said that i do have alot of pads left and that rotors dont look bad..... so i dont know what to do .. toyota doesnt seem to think i need to take it in.. get a second opinion?

Usually if brakes are grinding due to worn out parts the grinding will be continual once it starts. It will happen every time you hit the brakes. A lot of shops will give you a free brake inspection if you did want a second opinion. Your boyfriend would see either side of either rotor being damaged due to a worn out pad pretty obviously.

As far as what the guy was saying on the phone I have no idea what he's talking about.

yea my sister has a coralla type S of that year. for sum reason when i drive it, it makes this distinct sound. i thot it was the brakes too.

my uncle checked it bcuz he worked for toyota as a mechanic n sed brakes were fine.

didnt know what the prob was so untill now it reamins like that

juss take it some where n have them chaeck if u feel like its urgent

checking break on one side doesn't mean other side aren't worn out. You have to check all four break pad. Most of the cars that came to my work shop has one side break pad are thick while other side break pad inside one are worm out. So i suggest you took your car to any mechanic shop and ask them to do a break check.

Usually when you hear a brakes grinding, it because your break pad are worm out. If you want to make sure ask your bf to check all the break pad (inside, outside).
