A local dealer tried to tell us to buy a larger model because (he says) the Yaris is unstable and unsafe at freeway speeds. True or false?















I suspected this guy was full of B.S. and I asked him why Toyota would risk lawsuits by selling a car that's dangerous. He had no answer....

No way. He just wants to make more money. I have a 2002 Toyota ECHO (which is much the same as the Yaris, just the previous model), and I've taken it on the freeway for many long trips. It also gets great gas mileage (I get about 38 mpg just around town), and I've had no problems with it at all.

i actually saw a question like this on yahoo before. a sales person said that the yaris is a bad vehicle, and that they should go for something else.































that's good that you asked that question, to shut him up.































you see, dealers get paid based on commission, and the yaris isn't an expensive vehicle. so if they try to get you to buy a more expensive car, they will make more money. so they're just tricking you to buy a more expensive vehicle.

Toyota Yaris is a DEATH TRAP. On the freeway, which car would you rather be in when go 60 MPH and are hit by a truck...a Camry...or a Yaris.....even the wind at that speed can throw you into another lane as a mac truck passes you by at 80 MPI. Buy it, and risk your life. Thise small cars may be ok for puttzin arount the city at slow speeds. But you couldn't even get me in one on a freeway...insanity.
