Jordan you have to look at this with an engineers view.. the truck u have is a small truck designed for small horsepower and light weight.. by trying to hot rod this truck you have to strengthen EVERYTHING, the drive line trans even the springs in the suspension..so, First ask yourself what your purpose is, is it to 4 wheel with power? or street speed? You see, money plays into this equation too.. so it may be better for you to just get another vehicle designed with enough to do what you want to do.. for 4 wheeling I would recommend the type of terrain you intend to play in, because mud boggers are different from rock crawlers.. and desert is too..lightweight with the right suspension is the start and then focus on power.. you see if 4 Wheeling is your thing horsepower is not the priority, other subjects like what I listed are much more important.. HP is delivered thru the drive train and light weight is HP gain..because it takes less engine HP to move a lighter weight..that is why your Toy is powered by a 4 banger..
Now if you want street speed, get a fox body Mustang and build it..
Good luck.. and by the way a turbo is for the street not a truck,, it requires alot of engine rpm to use the turbo.. forget that idea,, it does not apply to this application..
