Default 1991 Toyota Pickup 4x4/3.0 idle speed control?
where is the idle speed control located in the 1991 Toyota Pickup's engine, also why would it idle at 1500 rpms when it should be at 850 rpms normally.















uhhh it might be called the speed idle regulator, idk i'm writing this for my dad haha

The IAC valve is located on the throttle body and the pintle valve inside is probably all carboned up sometimes you can take them apart and clean and reset the pintle valve , but you could also go to your local recycle yard















IAC VALVE= Idle air control valve P.S also try throttle body cleaner to clean it and blow out with compressed air Hope all works

I've seen this problem a few times on this motor. Each time, it's been because of a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). New ones aren't exactly cheap, but removing the current one and testing the contacts is fairly easy for anyone with moderate mechanical abilities and a multimeter. The testing specifications can be found online with a quick search.
