COULD I SWAP A 90 4RUNNER ENGINE INTO A 85 4RUNNER?

Default COULD I SWAP A 90 4RUNNER ENGINE INTO A 85 4RUNNER?
I found an 85 4runner the guy claims the engine just died one day































I have a 1990 4runner with no 4WD could i swap them? How much would it cost?















































the 85 is in pretty good shape































my 90 is messed up when ibought it,the folowing is wrong:































































windows dont go down















windshield wipers wont stop















needs bumper top and bottom new front and back light (right side)















tie rod















grill















back hatchback wont open looks glued shut HAHA for realll































































so if i can swap them how much and would it be cheaper to swap then to repair the 90?















i can get the 85 for 900

But another vehicle. You can't put a fuel injected engine in a carb.car. It would be to much work.

Which motor is in the 90? Which motor is in the 85?































The 85 should have either a 22R or a 22RE (fuel injected version). The 90 should have a 22RE or a 3VZE 3.0L V6.































If they both have 22RE 4-cylinder motors, the swap is fairly straight forward. If the 90 has a 22RE and the 85 has a 22R, the swap is still not terribly difficult, but you have to swap all of the engine controls, fuel injection components, and the fuel tank (not sure if the 90 one will swap in or not...)































If the 90 has a V6, I wouldn't bother.
