If it says premium, then you HAVE to put premium in. I assume standard might work for a bit but then your engine will get damaged and you're out the cost of a new engine.
Usually when it says premium, put premium. But some cars (google it) run fine with a octane substitute and a lower octane fuel. The higher octane only protects your engine more.
