Default 96 camry Toyota COMPUTER bad cat?
will a car that can not be read on the computer system no supported my mechanic thinks it is the cat the place I brought it last year says if it is bad the eng light would have to be on and the problem is the on board diagnostic comp

Im not 100% sure I understand your question: But if your cat is bad it'll cost a lot of money $550+ because you need to replace your whole exhaust (from the flex-pipe back).































I dont think the engine light would come on if your catalytic converter went bad - as it doesnt affect your engine only your emissions. I would trust the mechanic over the guy that sold it to you.
