There is no 1999 yaris and when they started to make in 03 or 04' there was a chain. If you got a yaris with 1999 year it has to be counterfeit or salvage to look like.

Excuse the first answer. Here in the States we didn't get the Yaris back then. We received that vintage Yaris in 2000 and it was called the Echo. Also, to answer your question, it has a timing chain.
