Default Can a 89 Toyota Tercel become an upgrade?
I know someone that has a car they wouldn't mind selling to me. If i purchase this car i want to be sure this ride can have a chance of being a race car with some minor adjustments?

An 89 Tercel was a crappy little car in 89. Sure, reliable and economical, but slow, spartan, and (in my opinion), ugly. By todays standards it's glacier like.































If it's in good shape and you want basic transportation, buy it, if the price is right. 20 years old, can't be worth more than a few hundred bucks - definitely less than 1000. Don't waste your money trying to make it a performance car though.

you can make it a beast, by changing the engine and transmission, put a 4age supercharged or 3sgte which is turbo charge, problem is this will cost you at least five times more that what your car cost....
