I own a Toyota Tarago(2004 Model). The steering is squeeling when I turn the steering wheel. Can somebody tell me what is happening please. Also can somebody tell me if there is a steering belt on the steering system?
Sounds like a loose belt. Adjust the belt tension or just replace the belt entirely, you should be good to go. Low fluid or a failing power steering rack/pump usually makes more of a whining sound than a squealing sound.
just get a mechanic to inspect your drive belt. if its cracked or torn, it needs to be replaced. if its in good condition, you just have to retighten it. that's it.
