between 90,000 -125,000 miles

manuel or automatic, not sure yet...

not more than $2,000

Thank you!

Toyota cars are very good cars if maintained properly. They are good on gas too. They are good up to 200k miles. And you don't worry about timing belt, coz if the belt snap it doesn't damage the engine. Good Luck

If I were you, I'd definitely go with the Toyota over the Ford. My whole family now drives Toyotas and they're amazing. In fact, my mother just bought a new Matrix after driving a Tercel wagon for more than 20 years. And the wagon was still going strong when she sold it.

The best thing you could do before buying any used car is take it to a mechanic who specializes in repairs of that manufacturer. Most cities have specialty mechanics who work pretty exclusively with one type of car or another and those people will give it a thorough inspection and be able to advise you about the future prospects of the car. It will cost probably $100 to $200, but that's a small price to pay to find out if a car is safe and reliable. And it's about what you'd pay to have the car towed from a remote location to a local mechanic.

When you're deciding between a manual or automatic transmission, think about where you'll do most of your driving. Manuals are great for highway drivers and you'll get better gas mileage. But if you're going to be driving in the city, with lots of lights and stop signs, an automatic will be less cumbersome. Personally, I'm a total failure when it comes to manual transmissions, so I always drive automatics. At least I can use the fact that I live in an urban environment as an excuse.

You're a smart one for going with a low-mileage vehicle, since the car should have plenty of life ahead of it. My brother has more than 400,000 miles on his Toyota truck and I've got 130,000 on mine (it's a 1996 Tacoma), which makes mine a toddler. Good luck to you!
