Ihave a 2008 Toyota Camry and have tire problems.?
With regular scheduled maintenance and tire rotation, I argued with the dealer that the tires on the front were bad (Bridgestone Tires) even after 5000 mile rotations and they replaced two tires. Now at 28000 miles, the back tires are cupped and have to be replaced. The dealer states that those tires are also bad. I had also let the dealer use Nitrogen instead of air at one of the rotations. My questions are: Why should the rear tires cup? If the tires are bad, should I go after Toyota to replace all the tires since they are bad at 28,000 miles? Did using Nitrogen have anything to do with the problem? Or are these just bad cheap tires that Toyota provides on new vehicles? What tires should I buy to replace these?
28000 is a reasonable mileage for a set of tires. If they are "cupped" then they have been inflated to the wrong pressure. Go for Goodyear or Firestones instead. Bridgestones are better than they were 20 years ago but still nothing to write home about unless you have an F1 Grand Prix car.
At 28,000 miles i don't think you will get any help from toyota. Tires cup because of hard cornering, low tire pressure or alignment out of whack. the original tires are usually good for about 36,000 miles or so not much more than that.
If your tires were change at the dealer, they could have explained to you the reason why you are having this problem, they could have mentioned to you about camber alignment, or a better aftermarket tires like yokohama, pirreli, goodyear, etc.....
