Default TOYOTA ENGINE PROBLEMS?
The engine just recently went out on my 97 Camry. The oil light never came on to warn. Is that a default by Toyota?? Can any of you help me where to find a good engine?

Is it a low mileage vehicle? May not be worth the 2K for a new engine

That is not a default. It may have had a sensor gone bad, or the light may be burnt out on the dash. Either way it is nothing to blame Toyota for, the car is 12 years old.































You can buy an engine at any local salvage yard, or online from ebay, www.car-parts.com, or a local parts supplier (autozone, Napa, etc)































What caused it to fail, what broke, and how many miles on it.

Maybe the oil is not the cause why your car broke down. I know your engine is 5sfe and you can get a good used on between $650 to 1000 at ebay plus labor of $700. Do you think this is worth to spend. If I were you save some money and buy a running one....
