what can go wrong with a corolla?

my mechanic said that cars usually have things go wrong with them on a given millage... like every 100K water pump.. he said to seach the internet to see examples.. my 03 corolla has 72K miles.. is there anything i can expect? or if anyone had this kind of car?

If you are asking this question I guess you do not know too much about cars.I recommend whatever you buy get a warranty even if it cost extra. Because anything can happen to the used car you buy and it really depends on how it was taken care of before you got it.The older any car gets there is always a maintenance issue along with needed repairs. Make sure you get a car fax history report before you buy this will tell you if it was in any accidents, and if there was any serious damage to the car and if so stay away.Good luck

change timing belt and water pump on the 'rolla every 60000 miles or 100k. Why waterpump as it's in the same place as the timing belt so not much more labour from the mechanic to replace it. Then you have the peace of mind knowing it is done. And what goes wrong with a 'rolla???

There is nothing that regularly goes wrong with these if they are properly maintained. There are several service bulletins for hard/no start conditions on these but they are not real common faults. You can do a search on line to see them. There is also a service campaign on the window regulator bolts if you have power windows. See your dealer if it has not been done. You will drive this car many more years if you take good care of it.
