Default Toyota Sienna 2009 problem?
Our brand-new 2009 Toyota Sienna has a problem. The indicator light for the theft deterrent system is flashing. I'm not sure I even have a theft deterrent system on it. Is this normal? How can I make it stop?

A good car thief cn tell you how to disable it. Better for you to look in the owners handbook. It could be that the saleman overlooked that option and you got it without being charged premium. Then again, Toyota works so hard trying to be No 1, theft deterrrent might be standard on Siennas. You don't want everybody knowing how to manipulate your security system, do you? OK, here's how to cheat the Toyota security system... no, changed my mind.

It flashes when you shut the car off to tell you that it is working and to tell would be thieves that it is watching.

It's normal. It should flash anytime the key is not in the ignition. Once you put the key in the ignition it should stop blinking. If it doesn't, you'll probably notice that the car won't start. It's an anti theft device.
