What's weird about that?
People swap engines into the 240sx all the time. If you think it's "weird," you're about 15 years behind the times. It's actually more strange to KEEP the engine, lol.
Even a 2jzgte swap isn't odd, anymore. If you want to get something truly unique, swap an engine from a Pathfinder, or something like that.
Out the door, labor, parts, everything included, for just a STOCK swap, you're looking at around $6,000.
And that's for a low powered JDM 2jzgte. Keep in mind, the USDM 2jz's came with larger turbos, larger injectors, and are about 30-40 more horsepower than a jdm one.
For a USDM swap, you're easily close to 10,000$, by the time you're done.
And then you'll only have the stock output of around 320 at the crank.
Upgrading it along the way, you'll be close to $20,000, in very short time.
Problems you'll run into: engine mount location, transmission shape/dimension, needing a new driveshaft, making sure that the geometry of the drive shaft is correct, weight distribution, intercooler and turbo piping, rewiring all the electronics, etc and so forth.
