Can you flash the ECU of a 2006 Corolla LE?

Default Can you flash the ECU of a 2006 Corolla LE?
I'm looking to get some better gas mileage, and if possible, a few extra horses under my hood. I heard flashing the ECU is a pretty easy way to "jailbreak" the car from the manufacturer's settings and update the software. Does any performance shop do this?

ECU will be sending more fuel to the engine if you do this. only a little bit more though. so i don't really see how it works. the tv show fifth gear tested this, and it reduced fuel economy by a little.















































but adding a cold air intake will increase milage because your putting more air into the cylinders, so your engine can work more efficiently. also, get a bigger exhaust. bigger exhaust will mean less back preassure to allow the engine to work more easily. but if you take away too much back preassure, it won't be good for the engine.































but yea, any performance shop should be able to reprogram or change your ECU
