I have a 99 Toyota Camry. The brake and tail lights do not work.?
All of the fuses are good and all of the plugs are plugged in.The blinkers work and the emergency flashers work. Headlights are ok and so are all the side marking lights.
check for power and ground at the bulb sockets to find out which you do not have. Then check the trunk harness wires where they attach the main harness at the left trunk hinge. They are notorious for breaking the wires at the point where the harness flexes. Sometimes a short can take out the lamp failure relay up behind the left trunk panel(yellow box). Good Luck--T&T
tallntrue56 is correct. There is a light sensor relay that's by the left hinge of the trunk. If both brake lights and the 3rd brake light is out, that's probably the problem. If its not all 3, then make sure its not a bulb or socket problem.
