Default I drive a 98 Toyota Camry and there's a light on the dashboard that says "O/D Off" what should I do?
I know that O/D means overdrive, but I have never seen this light on and am a little worried. I have no idea how to turn it back on, is there a way? Is this something I need to take it to the shop for? Yes I don't know anything about cars lol, please advise































Also, I noticed while this light was on (it just turned on last night) that on the highway my RPM is higher than usual, even when I'm going about 65 /70 the RPM is well over 3, it usually stays a little below 3 or nearer to 2, but since that light went on its been over.

There's a button on your shifter, which will turn your overdrive back on.































Having it off, won't significantly hurt anything, except your gas mileage.































Turn it back on, you'll be fine.

It means you accidentally hit the button or switch that temporarily turns off your transmission's overdrive (O/D), which is basically like fourth gear. That's why your RPM was higher. The switch is probably on your shifter below the button that you press to take it out of park, but it could be on the dash. Press the switch and the light will go out and your highway RPM will return to normal. You haven't hurt anything.

There is a button on or near your your gear shift, or Park, Drive, Reverse shifter. You must of bumped the button, push it again and it will fix it. Look at owners manual for exact location of button.
