Default I need to know if a 22RE engine from a 1985 toyota celica will work in a 1986 toyota 4x4 pickup?
so im looking at a 1986 toyota 4x4 pickup with a blown engine and i have a 1985 toyota celica with a smashed front but the engine is in perfect condition. i was wondering if anyone knows if the engine from the celica will work in the pickup.

Most Toyotas from the 1980's used the same dang 4-cyl engine, the infamous 22R. What a workhorse. Made Toyota famous and earned them gobs and gobs of millions of dollars.















I'd think that one 22R is a 22R, meaning they're the same. Only troubles might be mounting equip to match to trannies if they are diff.
