'02 Toyota Solara timing belt/chain?

I head the 4 cyl '02 Toyota Solara has a timing chain that does NOT require servicing, It supposedly lasts the "effective life of the engine". However, I have found nothing concrete on this, and I don't feel like asking the dealer. They'll probably have me replace it for the hell of it. Does anyone know for sure?

A Solara is basically a Camry. I believe it does have a timing belt. I have a "98, which has a belt. IF it does have a timing BELT, it should be changed at 90,000 miles.

The '02 4 cyl Solara has a timing chain. I had an '01 Solara, and it had a timing chain, as well. If your read the link you provided, you would see that the 6 cyl Solara has a timing belt, but the 4 cyl has a timing chain. And it doesn't matter that it's a Camry. It's a totally different model. I hope this helps!!

no timing chains do not need to be replaced. they do although stretch over time but most engines have tensioners to pick up the slack. although you can replace it, but if your not racing it or want to get every single possible drop of power out of it, there really is no need.

A US 2002 Toyota Solara 4cyl has a timing chain, not a belt. There is no prescribed replacement interval ("as needed").
