Default does the AE86 have a safety rating?
this site http://www.safecarguide.com/mak/toyota_us/idx.htm has crash test results for the '80-'83 corolla, and for the '84-'87 listed. i think the ae86 ran from '84 to '87 or '88, but the chassis might be carried over from the '80-'83. can anyone tell me if it is any safer than the '80-'83? because 1 star passenger safety rating is pretty lame!

i already would want a roll cage, cause i know side-impact protection on an 80s car is aweful, but i am just hoping that it's not 1-star for the passenger frontal crash test like one of the early 80s corollas is

If you're concerned about safety, invest in a roll cage. Beyond that, this question should be deferred to the appropriate section at www.club4ag.com for attention from fellow AE86 owners
