Default 1988 Corolla brake lights do not turn on when the brake is applied?
I drive a 1988 Corolla SR5 and I'm having a problem with my brake lights. Thinking it was the bulbs i replaced them, but it still does not work. When i turn my driving lights on they work, just not when i apply the brakes. As far as i can tell the inside fuse panel looks ok. Anything else i should check or just take it in?















Thanks for the info, for the life of me though i cannot find a switch, is it up and underneath the steering column?

possibly the break light switch on the steering column above the break pedal

Pull and check the fuse with either a ohm meter or continuity tester.















Otherwise, it's a brake light switch gone bad, misadjusted, or a loose wire.
