Default i have a toyota celica and when i drive it i hear a rubbing sound coming from the engine what
could this be .? the brakes are bad anyway could it be that

I'm an engineer and I know for a fact that if your engine sounds really loud, it's probably because of the cold. However, if the sound is really loud, there might be a problem with your engine. The brakes are separate from the engine so keep this in mind. If your steering wheels feel really hard when you try to make a turn, it's an engine problem. Check your local auto-shop repair.

it could be the belts that are dry, try spraying wd40 on them while it is ticking over you will notice Straight away if that is the problem, however that is not a quick repair the belts will need to be replaced.
