um... twist the headlights switch on the indicator stalk to the off position?

Are you talking about the running lights? I know that you can pull the emergency brake up one click and that should cut them off but you wouldn't want to drive like that.

Daytime running light, you can't. The governments make them made it so it can not be turn off. The only way to turn it off is to remove the fuse but other part of the electrical would be off as well.
