An All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) car or SUV would be better. Camry is not offered in a AWD version. The Subaru vehicles, particularly the Outback and Forester, are well-respected harsh weather AWD vehicles.

Toyota Camry is always an excellent choice with a well-above average reliability and good gas mileage. My father own a 1988 Toyota Camry as second car and it always start even during cold winter day. He never had problem with that car in the past 21 years and his `88 Camry is now 345 072 Kms (215 670 Miles) and still on the road. Believe me, you can trust a Camry!!

a camry is a great reliable car during winter if there is less than 3in of snow.

It won't be as good as an AWD or 4WD car or SUV.































However for a front wheel drive family sedan it has good traction. The Camry is available with traction control and vehicle stability control that helps the car maintain traction even in severe conditions.































Edmunds.com tested a Toyota Camry LE for a year and took it to Chicago through a nasty winter storm:
