The Toyota Trueno is actually, in fact, a Toyota Corolla.































It is called the 86, because its nick name is Hachi-Roku which is Japanese for 86. 1986 It is also the last year the rear-wheel drive platform was used for the corolla.

its because the chasis code is called ae86...and japan likes to call their cars by chasis code more then the name of the car...same thing as the civics where they are called by the chasis codes of eg6 or ek9...
