stock, the celica is pretty quiet. I owned a 95 convertible, and i could hardly hear the motor with the top down. so yes, aftermarket exhaust is the only way to go. I had a magnaflow muffler, sounded okay. but it would sound better with a Japanese muffler. depends on what you want. If you want a really loud deep sound, go with Tanabe. The second option is headers. Adds power and changes the sound, but not much louder.
