I have a 92 toyota paseo and my enigine is overheating theres no heat coming out of the vents?

Default I have a 92 toyota paseo and my enigine is overheating theres no heat coming out of the vents?
i drive less than a mile and engine heats up to right under the red. i get home and the radiator is cold while the engine is hot. i just replaced the thermostat and there's no way in hell i can afford a new radiator. what can i do to temp. fix this prob?

Your neighbor who works for GM has obviously sabotaged your Toyota. You only other choice is to move to Michigan since there are no longer any GM employees there.

Was it doing it before the thermostat replacement?















If it wasn't, check to make sure the thermostat is installed correctly. Sometimes when the cover is getting put back on the thermostat can shift without noticing and it won't work properly.















If it was, I would say start by doing a very thorough radiator flush. If that doesn't fix it you probably need a new radiator.















From the sounds of it, if the radiator is staying cool, you probably have a blockage somewhere.

put a 4E-FTE engine in it i think it is a direct swap i just got one for my 92 tercel for $675 with tranny and ecu with full wire harness

I dont know what the hell Im talking about but does it have a temperature sensor? Maybe you are getting a false reading. If the radiator is not leaking then don't replace it!!!! Flush it out.

Sounds like your thermostat is installed upside down. You'd be better off without one; at least the water would circulate. So if changing it doesn't solve the problem, take it out until you figure out what is. I'm guessing the overflow tank isn't going up or down either. You may only need a radiator flush if there is blockage in it. A new radiator might be a bit expensive but a used one out of a wrecking yard could be cheaper. Might be hard to find so I'd call around before driving any distance to a yard to see if they have any there.
