check this first, because if the battery goes low or is disconnected for any reason, the system defaults back to east coast settings. Push "destination" and select your area. Then push menu and then time zone; select your time zone from the map. Then take it for a little drive so the Nav unit can recognize the needed satellites and area code/zone in a unobstructed area. Now try to select your address. If the unit has defaulted back to east coast and you live in the west--it will have difficulty because it is just a logic device. Good Luck----AL
