Sorry but there is no cheap engine upgrade for the Celicas.
In fact, changing a motor tends to be rather expensive on any car. Even a direct replacement can easily cost several thousand dollars.
If you're looking for a little more power. There's always adding a quality aftermarket Air Intake or Filter like K&N's. Adding a Cat-Back exaust to that would net you a few more HP.
You would be looking in the Range of 10-30 HP to the Wheels if you did both. With a cost in the range of $600 - $1,000.
The Automatic tends to suck a lot of HP though. If you want a monster, sadly the Celica will never be it. Too bad too they are great looking cars and can handle fairly well.
