Is it safe to exceed your maximum towing capacity? Ummmm no... There is a limit for a reason, not just a guide to try and stick by.

NO!! I would be scared just pulling a 10,500 pound trailer in a 1/2 ton truck.































It's not a good idea to be maxing a truck....If you plan to overload it, that would just be stupid and very dangerous.































You should get a larger 3/4 ton truck to handle a trailer like that.

I'd say no. But if you ignore me make sure you take it out for a spin and get a feel for it before taking it out on the highway. Towing a boat that size with your vehicle is incredible dangerous.

Is it Safe? Probably.































It's it a good idea? Probably not.































Often times the weight limit imposed on Vehicles is because of the Springs, they can only handle so much Weight before they sag and make it dangerous to drive.































You should look into getting some "helper" or Airbag Springs. They can level out your truck to the correct height to prevent steering problems.































Also make sure your Tow Hitch is properly attached. Many times now they are welded to the frame for added strength. If not, it certainly couldn't hurt to have it welded.































Don't forget to check out the Tongue weight on your hitch also, it can get a lot more dangerous if that breaks off.

Here is another way to look at it. If the boat weighs 11600 pounds and your truck weighs about 4500 pounds, that means you are trying to pull AND stop 16100 pounds. The 10500 pound carrying capacity of your Tundra probably includes the weight of the truck so you have to subtract that to find how heavy your load can be. Generally, a one ton truck is required to pull 16000 pounds safely. I would suggest you go to your Toyota Dealer or a trusted RV Dealer to find out what they recommend.
