Where is the Toyota Prius made and how much to replace the batteries?

don't worry about replacing the batteries, they last a LONG time, despite what other people say. the warranty on the batteries is for 8 years btw. some prius's have even been used as taxi's and still don't show signs of the battery giving up. actually, even the first prius's don't have issues yet.

did you know toyota used to make a fully electric Rav4 in the mid 90's? those ued the same type of batteries that you see in the prius, and some of those had more than 250 000 km's on the original battery without any signs of giving up. and those were in a FULLY ELECTRIC SUV! so it would go through more charging cycles than a gasoline/electric hybrid, so a hybrid battery will for sure last much longer.

The Prius is currently built in Japan. There were plans to open a plant in Mississippi to build the Prius in the U.S., but that has been shelved due to the downturn in the economy.

For Prii sold in the U.S., the battery has a 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty. If you bought and registered the car in CA, CT, MA, ME, NY, NJ, RI or VT, the warranty is automatically extended to 10 years / 150,000 miles.

If the battery fails during the warranty period through no fault of your own (i.e. you didn't do anything stupid like crash the car or tamper with the hybrid system), replacement cost is FREE.

i think most toyota's are made in the US , the ones made in Japan aren't soo good nothing is wrong with toyota??

nothing it would definately save a lot of gas, they have a little less than 50 mpg which is amazing
