Buying toyota supra 86?!?!?

I am in love with supra's and i found one at 575$$$, it has some problemes. How much will it cost to repair, and is it worth it???

1986 Toyota Supra

* non-turbo

* targa top

* automatic

* mags

* body in very good shape ( one small rust perforation )

* structural frame in great shape

* not plated for 4 years

* engine starts

* headlights pop up and all lights work

Problems:

- transmission slips a bit between 1st and 2nd gear

- crack in windshield

- brakes seized from long storage

- brakes lines broken

- gas tank leaks

- needs battery

- floor pans have some rust holes

Transmission will NEED to be rebuilt, typical auto-transmission rebuild is 'about' $750-1000 if YOU remove and install the transmission

Replace windshield, depends on if your insurance covers windshields or not, typical replacement runs $2-300

May be able to rebuild calipers, if not, they're about $30-50 per wheel

Depends on what 'broken' means

If it's a metal tank, it can be welded, last time I had to have a tank plugged it cost me $120

Batteries are about $50-100 depending on the type

Well if have a welder it's free to fix rust holes, if not find someone who does. Rust repair can be expensive for a professional to deal with."Is it worth it"? Well, that's kind of up to you. You're looking at about two grand to get the car back up and running, and frankly when you're dealing with a car that has these kinds of problems, quite a few more are BOUND to pop up. If you're looking for a 'daily driver', I'd pass. If it IS your daily driver, make sure you have another car available to drive or be ready to take the bus. If it's a project vehicle, it's actually a pretty good deal.
