What do they call car brakes that operate by computer once the driver hits the brake pedal?

Default What do they call car brakes that operate by computer once the driver hits the brake pedal?
And did Toyota cars since 2000 have these brakes?How do you find out if the carhad such brakes?

If you have abs a light should come on in the dash when you have it in run position that says ABS for a few seconds

They don't have brakes that are operated by Computer.































All brakes are connected mechanically to the Master Cylinder which pumps brake Fluid into the ABS unit which Pulsates the fluid to keep your Brakes from locking up.































Instead of you having to pump the brake Pedal the ABS unit does it for you.































There is electronic brake force distribution but that only comes on Toyota Trucks.































All Toyota Cars and Trucks have came with ABS for years now. If yours is made within the last 10 years chances are very good it came with them.

its called anti lock braking system which is controlled by the abs control module.















some of the later cars also come with something called as brake assists, which is also controlled by this module. it only operates when the driver hits on the brake pedal suddenly to avoid obstruction. the module calculates the time from when the accelerator is released and brake is hit and deploys more fluid power to the brakes for faster and safer stop















year 2000 Toyota's should have abs in it as i have a 1996 toyota supercustom hiace which has a abs in it.
