the finance manager was a scumbag that was trying to sell you on an aftermarket warranty because the dealer gets a killer kickback on selling those warranties.
Do the maintenance that is called for on your vehicle according to the owner's manual only. You do not need to go back to the dealer, but do save all of your receipts so that you can prove you have been doing the proper maintenance in case a warranty issue comes up.
Federal law states that a manufacturer can not void your warranty for having work done outside of the dealership unless the work that was done was the actual cause of the failure. The finance manager was lying to you.
