How do I remove the "maintenance required" light on my '07 Corolla?

At 5,000 miles it went on so I did the oil change myself and it stayed I did it again at 9k and it's still on. It has all of its fluids topped off and runs like day one. How do I reset the annoying "MAINT REQ'D" light without taking it to the dealer?

have you tried pulling the codes to actually see what the problem is??

that light can give you a code that will tell you exactly what the problem is... if you take the time to look.

key to the ?ON? position while holding down the trip meter reset button. Hold down the knob for at least five seconds. The odometer indicates "000,000" and the light should go off.

If you have the smart key in your pocket:

1. Push the "Power" button once.

2. If necessary, push "Odo/Trip" button until odometer is displayed

3. Push "Power" once to shut off.

4. Push and hold "Odo/Trip" button

5. Push "Power" twice while holding "Odo"

6. The mile digits will turn to dashes and then disappear one by one

7. When it is fully reset, it will change to "000,000", light goes off.

8. Release "Odo" button

9. Push "Power" button off.

10. All Done!
