Performance should be incredibly good as long as the car is in good condition, meaning struts, engine tuned up, good tires and brakes, and especially the AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's almost more important than having good brakes (only joking, but not by much).
toyota engines are nearly legendary for their durability and reliability, so even with a 12 yr old car, it should still run quite excellently if it's been taken care of regularly and not abused. Good tires and good engine care are mandatory to keep any car, even toyota, in good shape.
The drive up to Vegas from LA on freeway is super-EZ that's why they built the dang road so straight!! But desert travel can take its toll on a car. So the radiator and hoses need to be in great condition.
I had overheating problems plaguing me for years on my old 1991 Corolla, and it was a bunch of micro-holes in radiator that you couldn't really see well enough to know that it was leaking. Finally, replaced it and car runs incredibly well now, and never ever overheats, even with over 100 F temps. Does NOT get over 1/2 way on temp gauge now.
So ANY Camry should take that drive very easily if the car has been taken care of like any car should be taken care of. MOst modern cars are very good cars if kept up.
So blast off and head to Vegas for your long weekend and enjoy the slots!!
