do this in this order.. disconnect the battery, put the key in the ignition and turn it to run position (setting right before start). now reconnect the battery terminal. it should just beep once slightly on maybe not at all. Most systems are built to see that if someone has the key and can turn the ignition, it doesnt need the alarm to go off (ie; you are an owner). When the battery is disconnected the alarm activates because often times that is how thieves try to shut off the alarm. If you did not get the remote when you bought the car to shut the alarm off, you should consider having it removed to prevent further problems, or replace it with one that has the remotes.
