Default i have a 1997 toyota tacoma 4x4 automatic transmission,it seems to be shifting slowly into first
gear,any thou? any thoughts,fluid is full,hesitates in cold and hot weather















I have just recently bought this truck,i had not ck'd the tranny fluid yet and all this started,i ck'd it the day it started and it took a qt. to put it on full,yes i used Dexron II The fluid looks almost black and does have a little burnt smell to it,after i put the fluid in,i drove it and it did the same thing,so I parked it,again.I'm gonna drain it,pull the pan and filter,clean it up good and fill it back up,see what happens..........wish me luck any more advice?

Your tranny could need service, get it checked out to avoid pricey damage.

When was the last time you had the Trasmission serviced and the Tranny Oil changed?
