Default remote starter for 2009 Limited Edition Highlander?
Okay this is pissing me off. I bought a 2009 Limited Edition highlander and I bought a remote starter. I sent my wife to pick it up for me and get a demonstration and to make sure she tests it and it works. So She gets home tells me how to start it but when I start the Truck and unlock it to get in I press on the breaks, go into Reverse or Drive and it shuts off on it`s own. What am I doing wrong, because there is no key to put in the ignition and if I press the engine button the vehicle will shut off so what can I do to keep the engine running so I can drive I will call Toyota tomorrow but it`s driving me crazy in the mean time. Please help.

Sounds like something might have got screwed up in the Installation.































Taking it back is pretty much the only thing you can do.

check with the dealer, some of the remote starters do that for security reasons, i had a remote starter in my old shelby daytona and i would start it in the morning with the remote and when i was ready to go i had to use the key, because if you press the brakes it will shut off, they do that so that somebody else won't steal your car.
