How do I replace the serpentine belt on a 1997 Toyota Corolla?

Default How do I replace the serpentine belt on a 1997 Toyota Corolla?
I've been been able to find out how to install them on 98+ Corollas (by googling) but I can't find anything specific on 97...is it the same? Just put a wrench on the tensioner, remove old one, and put new one on?

Yes..Make very sure the cam and crank sprockets DO-NOT turn any.. Start with no.1 cyl at top dead center.

Yep.































That's it.































There is nothing more complicated than that. You won't hurt anything because it's got an Automatic Belt Tensioner.































So unlike what the other guy was saying.... you don't need to worry about that because you're not changing your timing belt.
