When I turned on the engine on my 2004 Totota Corolla, both Xentec HID lights shut off when DRL kicked in and I wasn't even able to manually turn the lights back on. Sometimes, right light stays on and left light shut off by itself or fickers. I've tried 15, 20, 30amp fuse on the left head light where the relay and battery is hooked up to. If I don't turn the engine on, everything works fine, and if I lift the emergency break up one click without activating DRL, everything works just fine, I was able to manually switch the headlights on and off. If I hook up the relay only to the left side of my headlights, everything worked just fine. I wonder if there's something to do w/ the relay? If I use another relay (maybe a custom one) that I connect the (+) all the way from the right side headlight and run HID lights from 2 seperate relays, will that solve the flickering issue I had? Any other suggestions?
I have no idea how to disable DRL for 2004 Corolla. I tried to pulling a fuse, but I coudn't find any fuse that has to do w/ DRL. Looked under the hood as well as well as the fuse box underneath the steering wheel. I also added relay purchase from eBay seller below, still flickers and shut off like I described. That was why I'm seeking for help here to see what else can be done.
