Default Have lost all keys to 2000 toyota solara what are my options?
We have lost all the keys with transponders but have a couple of cut keys that will unlock the doors and steering column. What are my options to get the car running. Don't want to spend a fortune.

you can boy an original uncut toyota key somewhere online. then you can take it to a locksmith center n they should be able to do the transponder stuff for you and cut the key. or toyota can do it. even that is gona cost you a good $100

Your ONLY option is to Tow it to the Dealer, bite the Bullet and lube up because it's going to hurt.































I don't know how much those Keys are with the Transponders, but I heard they were about $200 or so a piece.































It sucks, but Toyota pretty much has you by the Balls there.

You have a problem with no do it yourself solution. On the older Toyota system like you have, the computer module must be either reflashed by an automotive locksmith with the capability, or replaced by the dealer. Quite frankly, replacement can exceed the value of the vehicle in some cases, $1500 to $3500. Reflashing with new keys runs $500 to $750. Don't bother with ebay or other sources for the keyblanks, whoever does the work will use their own so they know they will work. Your next thought will be a second hand computer. It involves the same process to make it work as involved in fixing yours. Same cost.

i work for a dealership. there is a pant bulletin for this problem. if you lose your keys one time toyota will cover it. i don't think you can reprogram a 2000, it right there on the boarder line. can you local dealership and tell them whats going on and tell them you know about the pant bulletin that they will cover a ecu and reprogram one time under warranty.... oh and miles don't matter. or just call toyota and they will tell you what to do
