I think you should get the 3s-gte from the mr2 turbos and higher end celicas. They run about $3500 but give a good amount of power. You can find them on toyota forums.

Just do some informed shopping and you'll find what you need.

+1 for the 3sgte. Great turbo engine, unless you are willing to stay at about 200hp. In that case you can get the V6 out of a Camry/Avalon/etc. Look for the 1mz-fe engine, it started out by being done in MR2's, which have the same engine bay as your car, but theirs is behind the driver.
