Oh, boy, I tell you, it'd be easier just for you to hold a flashlight up to see what the temp control is set at than to try to change the bulb out.
I had to try that for my own heater controls on a 1991 Corolla. Not easy. just to get the heater/ac control unit out took me to take off the lower dashboard (both sides) and also the lower console, because the screws holding the unit is underneath all that.
The heater/ac unit is a single piece, about size of a car radio. It fits in the plastic framework, and is tightly held, mostly because of the two big wires which it uses to change temperature control and also to adjust the direction of air flow. Once those two large wires are disconnected, then the whole unit can be take out. the bulbs are usually sitting right behind it, or on the outside of it, in some cases.
It really is a pain unfortunately. It'd be better to get a repair manual at car parts place like Auto Zone, so you can see what you're attempting. Plus it'll give you something to keep to reference the work.
I'm not sure if you can get to that specific bulb. My own temp light shorts out when I push the lever, but then comes on little later on. I've had to pull unit out BARELY to try and fix it, but gave up.
sorry to bring bad news, but unless you're very determined, it's probably going to be a big pain trying to change out the bulb. And the most part of it is just getting to where you can get to it.
